How to Teach Skateboarding Safely
Drop In to Skateboarding resources and services are dedicated to helping recreation and physical education professionals develop a skateboarding curriculum to fit their own programming needs. The skateboarding curriculum is designed for flexibility in order to meet the unique needs of different types of programs, and effectively teach all levels of skating ability. Although programming and curriculum is designed for all levels of ability, the main focus of structured lessons are on beginners, and safely teaching fundamentals through a fun and successful process.
Drop In to Skateboarding curriculum provides instructional lesson plans and reproducibles, as well as legal forms and informational handouts on equipment, skatepark safety, falling properly, skatepark etiquette, and step-by-step lesson plans. The lesson plans incorporate educationally sound and tested methods with real life skateboarding experience and are designed to be flexible and user friendly. All instructional lessons are written to meet National Physical Education Standards.
