dropping inDrop In to Skateboarding was formed in an effort to meet the increasing demand and need in communities and the skateboarding industry. In general, public and community skateparks are relatively new assets for most organizations and municipalities. Often these groups do not know the essential questions to ask and seek consultation services for skatepark construction, programming, and equipment, as well as special event planning and promotion. Through extensive experience and credentials Drop In consultation services can help meet this growing need by providing sound insights and advice.

Ben Wixon

-Ben Wixon is a professional educator and public school teacher with a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as over 20 years skateboarding experience. As a skater Ben has endorsed various shop and factory sponsors, competed in international competitions, judged contests, and performed public demonstrations. He has instructed for and managed skate camps in Tempe Arizona, Maui Hawaii, and Mt. Hood Oregon. Wixon backside disaster in the bowlIn the field of public skateboarding instruction he has worked to create skateboarding programs with numerous cities, school districts, and recreation programs including Phoenix, Tempe, and Chandler Arizona, Portland Oregon, as well as a number of public schools in both Arizona and Oregon. In 2003 Ben served on a national task team for the Y.M.C.A. of the U.S.A. working to create a technical assistance paper for nation wide skateboard programs. Ben currently works as a public school teacher with Portland Public schools and is an Educational Leader and programming consultant with the city of Portland Oregon.
